I mean, afterall, my blog IS titled "Embracing Marli!" So... I'm going to embrace the actual name today :)
I didn't think I'd find much as my name is rather unique but I was DEAD WRONG!
Look at the hilarious that ensued!
Make sure when you use Google, use quotations around what you want it to look for. The quotations create a search using exactly what is within quotations. It's great for unique spellings, like my name.
Without the "Marli", Google likes to look up marlin pictures :)

So... what's in a name?
My mom picked my name from the soap opera, Another World. Marley Love was a character played by Anne Heche who was a twin- and even though I was originally told she was the bad one, I guess she's the good one :). I still shake my head that I got named after a soap opera!
Growing up, I had a love/ hate relationship with my name. I loved that it was unique but wasn't a fan of never finding my name on anything like my friends did. In middle school I wanted to change it. I eventually decided I would keep it, but I thought about changing the spelling. I mean, who ends a word with an I? Eventually I grew to embrace it. By high school I was just signing my papers with "Marli." A few teachers threw a fit because they wanted a last name but come'on, I was the only Marli for thousands of miles. Eventually they all gave up. I embraced the uniqueness so much that I eventually gave my daughters something similar- I have a Saydi and a Karli. Both are traditional names but with the unique I like had. Though, I've made sure they've had plenty of personalized stuff so they don't feel left out too :)
