This week I'm loving on theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter!!!! |
I bought mine off of Amazon a couple weeks ago when they were having their Luxury Beauty sale (spend $50 get $25 back) a couple weeks ago. A friend of mine is a highlight-junkie and had mentioned it a few times. I love theBalm Cosmetics and have yet to find a product of theirs that disappoints so I thought I'd give it a try!
And WOW! It's all I've got to say about this!!! It's a gorgeous gold-champagne shade and the lightest shade in the sister trio (there is also a Betty-Lou and Cindy-Lou). It's highly pigmented and a little goes a long way. It's slightly shimmery but not in an obnoxious way thought it's definitely noticeable (but in the right way).
I'm fairly light skinned but because I'm native american, my skin has a richer/warmer tone to it. I'm right in between NW20 and NW25 depending on the time of the year. Even though this is the lightest shade in the trio, it works wonderfully with my skin. It's got a beautiful, natural look which I've noticed is a problem with almost every other powder highlighter. My go-to for the longest time was NARS Albatross but I could never get it to blend perfectly and it would fade by the end of the day. Then I was recommended the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette and have been in love with that (though, NOT the price!) ever since. I just can't justify the price or the lack of ease of obtaining it so I went on the lookout once again, and that's how I came across the LouManizer sisters!!!
I was a little skeptical when I first heard about it but because of my love of theBalm products, I dove in head first! I was NOT disappointed!
I love how well it blends! |
theBalm cosmetics can be purchased at Kohls, Amazon, local boutiques, or their website. I got mine off of Amazon for $25.xx which I thought was really reasonable for such performance!
